Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has initiated recruitment for the Class 3 State Tax Inspector (STI) post. The candidates who qualified in the preliminary exams will now have to sit for the main examination. The examination will be in offline mode. There are 243 vacancies for the STI Class III posts. The exam date has not been announced yet but the date will be announced soon. Further information will be released soon on the Gujarat Public Service Commission website. Recruitment for 243 vacancies of State Tax Inspector was announced in December 2019. The GPSC Commission has received more than 2 Lakh applications for the STI Exam.
Exam date announcement: GPSC has announced STI Exam Date. Written exam will be conducted on 7 March 2021.

Before releasing the STI admit card, the GPSC board might release a list of Rejected Candidates. If a candidate finds his/her name in the rejection list, you won’t be able to download the GPSC OJAS STI admit card as you have been barred due to an invalid application.
In the first phase of the recruitment, the GPSC Commission will review the online applications received on Ojas Portal. After the revision of applications, the board will ascertain the validity of the applications. If there are discrepancies in the application, one gets rejected straight away. It might happen due to invalid data submission or improper documents upload during the application submission window.
Syllabus and Paper Pattern for Prelims and main exam
The examination will be conducted in two phases. In the phase, the preliminary examination will be conducted on 26 April 2020. The candidates who qualify the prelims will be called up for the main exam.
Prelims: The preliminary examination will consist of one paper of objective type (multiple-choice questions, MCQ) and carry a maximum of 200 total marks.

Gujarat State Tax Inspector Class-3 (Advt No 139/2020-21) Exam Date and Admit Card 2021
The age criteria is a minimum of 20 years and a maximum to 35 years. Age relaxations are applicable based on government norms.
The education qualifications required are 1. A bachelor’s degree/graduation degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university, 2. Basic knowledge of Computer Application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification, 3. Knowledge of Gujarati and/or Hindi.
There are four papers in the GPSC STI Mains examination. The exam pattern is as follows:

- General Studies I (3 hours or 180 minutes, 100 marks)
- General Studies II (3 hours or 180 minutes, 100 marks)
The general studies papers will have History, Cultural Heritage, Indian Polity, Constitution, Social justice, international relations, Indian economy and planning, geography, science and technology, general mental ability, national and international current affairs.
