India has several cultures, geography challenges, languages so are the physical appearance of the people of India. Army has decided rules for each state and has differentiated from each other. But as of now, we are going to discuss the general requirement to Join the Indian Army as a soldier and officer as well.
Indian army has established multiple Army Recruitment Offices (AROs) across the nation to meet the Recruitment Requirements. Indian Army organises the Army Recruitment Rallies on regular basis through these AROs from time to time.
Eligibility Criteria
Let’s check the general eligibility criteria like educational qualification, age, and physical details.
Education Qualification
For Soldier GD: A candidate must have passed Class 10th/Matric Pass with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. For Boards following grading system minimum of D Grade (33-40) in individual subjects or grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate of C2 grade.
Soldier Technical: A candidate must have passed 10+2 / Intermediate Exam Pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
Soldier Nursing Assistant / Nursing Assistant Veterinary: An applicant should be a least 10+2/Intermediate Exam passed in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject. OR
10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% marks in each subject.
Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical /Inventory Management: 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 60% marks in aggregate and a minimum of 50% in each subject. Securing 50% in English and Maths /Accounts Book Keeping in Class 12th is mandatory.
Soldier Tradesman (All Arms) 10th Pass: (i) Class 10th Simple Pass. (ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored min 33% in each subject.
Soldier Tradesman (All Arms) 8th Pass: Class 8th Pass for Syce, House Keeper and Mess Keeper). (ii) No stipulation in aggregate percentage but should have scored min 33% in each subject.
Minimum Height & Weight
Required Height varies from state to state because of Geographic Differences. Generally, for Soldiers, General Duty Minimum Height Should be 169 CM and weight should be 50 KGs. Chest Requirement for GD Soldier is 77 CM with 5 expansion of 5 CM.
Note: Exemption is provided to Gorkhas, Nepalese, Pahadi People as per the rule
For all other posts Height, weight, and chest will remain the same except Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical /Inventory Management.
Age Limit
For Soldier General Duty: 17.5 to 21 Years. A candidate should have been born between 1 October 1999 to 1 April 2003.
Rest 17.5 to 23 years and should have been born between 1 October 1997 to 1 April 2003.
Documents
एक उम्मीदवार को ऑनलाइन आवेदन करने से पहले कुछ आवश्यक दस्तावेज प्राप्त करने होंगे। किसी को यह पता लगाना चाहिए कि वह संबंधित एआरओ द्वारा आयोजित की जा रही सेना रैली में उपस्थित होने के लिए आवश्यक सभी मानदंडों को पूरा करता है।
अभ्यर्थियों को निम्नलिखित दस्तावेजों / मूल रूप से दो सत्यापित फोटोकॉपी के साथ रैली स्थल पर लाना आवश्यक है:
Admit Card: Printed with Laser Printer on good quality paper (Do not shrink the size).
Photograph: Twenty copies of unattested Passport size colour photographs developed on good quality photographic paper in white background not more than three months old. Computer printouts/photoshopped photographs will NOT be accepted.
Education Certificates:
- Education Certificates with marks sheet in original of all educational qualifications achieved by candidate i.e. Matric / Intermediate / Graduation etc from recognized School / College / Board / University
- Provisional/online education certificate should be certified ink signed by the head of the educational institution of concerned Board / University
- Candidates with matric certificates from Open School should bring School Leaving Certificate countersigned by BEO / DEO
Domicile Certificate. Domicile Certificate with photograph issued by Tehsildar/ District Magistrate.
Caste Certificate. Caste Certificate affixed with a photograph.
Religion Certificate. Religion Certificate issued by the Tehsildar/SDM. (If religion as “SIKH/HINDU/MUSLIM/CHRISTIAN” is not mentioned in caste certificate).
School Character Certificate. School Character Certificate issued by the School/College Principal/Headmaster, where the candidate last studied.
Character Certificate. Character Certificate with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within the last six months.
Unmarried Certificate. Unmarried Certificate for candidates less than 21 years of age with photograph issued by Village Sarpanch/Municipal Corporation within the last six months.
And other certificates like relationship Certificate, NCC Certificate, Adhar Card, Pan Card and an affidavit.
Admit Card
The concerned Army Recruitment Office issues the Admit Card for the Rally Site to the candidates. The candidates get Admit Card through email. If somehow the email is misplaced, then such candidates can download the Army Admit Card from the official website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
The Army Rally Admit Card contains very important information about the rally. It comes with information printed such as
- Candidate’s Roll Number
- Rally Site address
- Reporting Time
- Photograph
- Candidate’s personal Details

सेना में भर्ती व्यापक आधारित है। प्रत्येक पुरुष नागरिक, जाति, वर्ग, धर्म और अधिवास के बावजूद, सेना में भर्ती होने के लिए पात्र है, बशर्ते वह निर्धारित आयु, शैक्षणिक, शारीरिक और चिकित्सा मानकों को पूरा करता हो।
सेना में भर्ती प्रत्येक वर्ष में कम से कम एक बार अपने अधिकार क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत आने वाले प्रत्येक जिले में सेना भर्ती कार्यालयों द्वारा की जाती है। भर्ती कार्यक्रम स्थानीय समाचार पत्रों में प्रकाशित किया जाता है और अन्य मीडिया के माध्यम से प्रचारित किया जाता है, अधिमानतः संबंधित सेना भर्ती कार्यालयों द्वारा रैली के आयोजन से एक महीने पहले।
